This Rene Dumont Alto sax was made by Dorfler and Jorka, a Keilwerth stencil in West Germany in 1962. It has rolled tone holes, a unique set screw for attaching the neck, beautiful engraving and of course that BIG vintage sound. Play tested anti has no issues, plays top to bottom with no problems. A beautiful vintage horn that is a unique player.

Description

This Rene Dumont Alto sax was made by Dorfler and Jorka, a Keilwerth stencil in West Germany in 1962. It has rolled tone holes, a unique set screw for attaching the neck, beautiful engraving and of course that BIG vintage sound. Play tested anti has no issues, plays top to bottom with no problems. A beautiful vintage horn that is a unique player.

Condition
We rate each horn’s condition. Any defects are noted here. Each criteria is on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being poor condition and 10 being perfect

  • Body (dents, deep scratches, etc.) – 9 dimples on bow and near serial number
  • Finish (lacquer, silver plate, paint, etc.) – 8 Lacquer is almost entirely there, a few scratches and scuffs throughout
  • Previous repairs (soldered posts, dent work, etc.) – 10 none noted
  • Accessories (case, mouthpiece, etc.) – 9 Case looks good, some wear on the leather edging
  • Playability (leaks, sticky keys, etc.) – 10 plays flawlessly
